NJ: No Data Center in East Greenwich Township · Mobilize

The East Greenwich Planning and Zoning Board is **considering a proposal to build a data center in the Mount Royal section of town**, a residentially-zoned area. The project, submitted by American Tower Corporation, would place a *17,000 square foot unmanned data center* on a six-acre lot at 114 Mantua Road, immediately adjacent to the Oak Ridge housing development. Data centers and warehouses are not listed as permitted uses in residential areas in East Greenwich. While specifics of the plan are still unknown, data centers use enormous amounts of electricity and water. This particular project would be sited next to Mantua Creek, a tributary of the Delaware River. At this point, the company will be seeking preliminary and final major site plan approval, as well as a conditional use. **Now is the time for community members and allies across South Jersey to speak out and make our voices heard!** We don't want data centers in our towns, draining our resources, endangering our water supply, and contributing to air and noise pollution. **Come out to the East Greenwich Planning and Zoning Board meeting on April 21 and tell the Board: NO data center in East Greenwich!**
