There we go!

I feel like i keep reposting this every week or so..

Bit by bit #Bsky is sliding towards just another clone of #Twitter and #Facebook

Actions speak louder then words

The #Fediverse remains the only true open source, self-hosted world wide community driven by the people

Going #AI (#LLM) is a CHOICE, they again chose wrong

Oh fun thing!

People on #Bsky cannot block this since Bluesky has almost everything PUBLIC

Privacy? Why?

Good luck over there

@stux Now they will be able to report the posts and expose government critics to ICE directly.

@stux

the irony is that you can't search there if you are not logged in or have an account.
But no worries, since everything is Public you can use the google `site:` search.

@stux However, the majority of comments under Jay's announcement were not amused, to say the least.
@Krazov @stux But can they do anything about it?
@stux @ahltorp True, but Bluesky the company knew that, and Attie — the "AI feed composer" in question — is a separate app, to not piss off Blueskyans. Also, it's not really AI, apparently, but more of an algorithm, which led someone to a hypothesis that the whole ruse was to satisfy (mostly crypto) investors. I'm still rather observing it, so we'll see, but BS devs started vibe-coding Bluesky, so this can take a sudden turn any time now.
@Krazov @stux @ahltorp It's basically an AI-driven version of existing feed building tools like https://skyfeed.app or https://www.graze.social - these let you build feeds by putting together some source and filter components in some graphical UI, but they still require some work and technical understanding, this is meant to make this easier and more accessible to less technical audience.
SkyFeed

Real-time app for Bluesky with a powerful Feed Builder

@mackuba @stux @ahltorp I saw a screenshot in the meantime, and it's true that there is some sort of "AI" involved.
@stux people will invent most silly reasons to stick with bluesky, while in truth it is about reach again.
Well, bridge still works at least.
@stux Bluesky is speed running Twitter’s enshitification. I used Bluesky for about a week when I could first get an account and it seemed pretty clear what path they were going to do down. Haven’t signed back in ever since.
@stux Machines talking to machines, wow! Dystopia is truly knocking on the door.
@stux Who didn't see this coming? Not the AI so much as aiming to turn users into your unpaid workforce
@stux Did they not even add an opt out? If not they really have gone with a choice — and decided their choice overrules that of all their users...

Mastodon
@stux 'enterprising' is exactly the right word for that person. #WhyIsItAlwaysVCBros
@stux I don't have any Bsky account. ☹️.. 😂
@stux I've said in the beginning. Just skip BlueSky and go for Mastodon. It will go the same route as Twitter. I'm literally a prophet.
@stux Attie actually sounds interesting. Didn't hear of it before but I think it's the kind of service that can empower people to build their own feeds. I like it. Wish something like that existed for Mastodon. Getting a bit tired of the anti AI people here. That's not what I joined Mastodon for.
@pmandemaker @stux Yeah, it's basically anti-Twitter - Twitter is "we make one algorithm for you and you don't control it, we know what is best for you (and we'll add some right wing content there extra)", this is "build your own algorithm exactly as you want"
@stux Sorry to see. I knew this was coming the second I heard about Bain Capital Crypto seeding $100 million. I hate seeing this. I just have to hope things change. I still like Bluesky and want it to succeed, but this is bad news.

@stux

could be a new world record for enshittification depth and speed.

@stux

And you need an account while they track your interests.

Hard pass.

@stux That’s exactly what I’m saying—that’s what I see. That’s why I deleted my account.
