'Half a million' join London rally against the far right, claim organisers

It comes after more than 100,000 people turned out for a right-wing rally, Unite The Kingdom, in London last September.

@AGT So a "No Kings" rally in a country that literally has a king? 🤦
@SatanicPanDick It was an anti-fascist rally. Personally, I thought the words “against the far right” made it pretty obvious. Yes, we have a king, but a king with limited power who acts as a ceremonial head of state only. Parliament and the elected government make the decisions.
British politics clearly isn’t your subject.
@AGT ok, but like you did just type a pretty hostile sounding reply to a joke about how they literally couldn't call their version by its American name for reasons of being very hypocritical. Also, monarchies should be accomplished 🤷
@SatanicPanDick No aggression intended, but from this end your “joke” didn’t sound too friendly either. “Monarchies should be accomplished?” I’m not sure what you’re getting at, but you clearly seem to be missing the point. Parliament keeps the monarch in check. In the 1600’s Charles the first demanded absolute power with total control and was executed for it. His rule lead to corruption and civil war. The UK’s learned the hard way what uncontrolled leadership can lead to.

Autocorrect and dyslexia are mortal enemies

@SatanicPanDick I feel for you there. That’s a very unfortunate autocorrect. As for the monarchy, I agree one person shouldn’t have absolute power. In Britain the king’s essentially a figurehead, but in America Trump clearly seems to want absolute control, which is exceedingly dangerous.
