"I grant you one wish," the magic fish said.

"To eat my mother's pancakes again, just like when I was a child."

"Are you sure?"

"You think it frivolous?"

"No. But to grant it I must send you back to the child you were, with no adult memories."

"Would my life change?"

"You ask that every time."

@MicroSFF Who's cutting onions in here?!
'You ask that every time' is doing something I wasn't prepared for.

@ChrisChris
Me neither.

Who´s cutting onions?

@mythlfrythtyg Still trying to figure that out.

@MicroSFF

At least he finds the magic fish again and again.

@MicroSFF Sometimes the past present, isn't much of a future gift.
@MicroSFF Dang. That hits hard.
@MicroSFF i love the implications. is the fish a god? the only entity aware than going back happened at all?

@MicroSFF So she’s forever stuck in a time loop where she keeps getting sent back to her time as a child? 😳

I guess there’s a lesson here about being unable to move on from loss. 🥲

@Abazigal @MicroSFF mourning for the innocence lost
@Abazigal @MicroSFF I don't see how that is different from them simply disappearing.

@MicroSFF I am legitimately relieved to see a bunch of other replies saying basically: 🥹

I thought I was just being a big sap. 💖

@MicroSFF I like this 😊 thank you for sharing with us!
@MicroSFF did you read The fish king webcomic?
@darckcrystale No.Don't think I've heard of it before.

@darckcrystale @MicroSFF Aww, thank you so much for the shoutout! 🥰

@MicroSFF I am legitimately happy that this keeps popping up on my timeline about once a day.

Seems perfect.

@MicroSFF

Did anyone else thought when the fish asks "Are you sure" that the protagonist has to eat the pencakes AGAIN but they are allready eaten and they somehow… changed like it usually happens if children eat something.
