‘The tide is turning’, Green party leader tells crowd at march against far right – live

Organisers claim half a million people are marching through central London, protesting against the rise of the far right

@kimlockhartga

Something between 50, 000 (police estimate and 0.5 Million (organisers estimate)

@lobster well, there seems to be some motivation by the police to underestimate the crowd.😐

@cybervegan @kimlockhartga The Guardian paywalled?!
@davep @kimlockhartga "Accept cookies or subscribe" says paywalled to me.
@cybervegan @kimlockhartga
Dayumn. I've got ublock origin with cookie banners disabled and privacy Badger and it seems ok to me. But I'm also in the EU so it might be different.
@davep @kimlockhartga Could be - I'm in the UK. The web is very much no longer equal access.
@cybervegan @davep @kimlockhartga I'm in the UK too and can read the Guardian OK.
I use Librewolf with uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, etc but also some uBO anti-paywall scripts. I still get dismissable popups intermittently asking me to subscribe though.
@marjolica @davep @kimlockhartga Weird. When I'm sure when I try to dismiss it, it just stays. I have a lot of Meta domains and others blackholed, so I wonder if it's that. I'm happy using the Wayback machine though, so no worries.
@cybervegan @marjolica @kimlockhartga
I'm using pi-hole and it's ok. But I guess if you're happy using wayback machine that's cool too.
@marjolica @davep @kimlockhartga This is what I get. I either have to accept the cookies or subscribe. Clicking "Reject..." loops back to the same dialogue.
@cybervegan @davep @kimlockhartga I run the Firefox extension "I still don't care about cookies" which I assume is what gets rid of the banner. I have Enhanced tracking Protection Policy set to strict and UBlockOrigin is blocking guardianapis.com.
I can read Guardian articles and I see no adverts. For some reason the 'home' button doesn't get me to the top articles and I then have to use 'reload'.
Privacy Badger is not showing it's blocking any trackers on the Guardian. Interestingly it *is* showing that it is blocking a load of trackers where I'm now posting on social.linux.pizza.
@marjolica @davep @kimlockhartga I think that's it. I always deny cookies.
@kimlockhartga @davep I hope I haven't upset you - that's not my intention. I just don't do cookies, and will go to extraordinary lengths to avoid them.
@kimlockhartga too bad there isn’t a news network in the USA that will show what is going on in London, the US, and all over the world for No Kings. If Trump became aware of how much he is despised, there is a good chance he might die of a stroke. However, his handlers will carefully protect him from any reference to this event. He can continue to convince himself that he is the most loved leader ever.

@bjornqc yeah.

Oddly, we get the BBC, but not all the time, just at certain times. It's frustrating to have to seek out accurate info. And you can bet no one who brings *that guy* bad news is going to last in his inner circle.
