Fucking based, not giving them an inch. #systemd should learn from this and not enable this crap, not even *signalling* a teeny tiny amount of support.

Wonder what #Motorola will do about this, I don't think they like this. But who cares, doing the right thing rarely makes the maximum amount of profit.
#GrapheneOS #Android #Linux #privacy #security

@Natanox This is good, though I'm switching to a Linux- based phone later this year because Android slowly becomes hell as a whole
@clumsy @Natanox Using GNU/Linux with mobile desktop environment is not more secure, private, stable or fast than OS based on AOSP like GrapheneOS. And Android is Linux distribution too.
@a53bdb @clumsy Is that so?

AOSP is still in the hands of Google and the repo is awfully locked down. Maimuaika is right to switch, I'll do it myself if I can (have to change a few things and get the money before).
Keep Android Open

Advocating for Android as a free, open platform for everyone to build apps on.

@Natanox @clumsy Developer verification is a part of Google Mobile Service, not AOSP. The same policy is done by macOS years ago, it doesn’t make Android closed in my opinion. The delay of security patches does affect security of AOSP distributions, but the delay of AOSP doesn’t affect much.
@a53bdb @Natanox I want to have full control of my device and not have to verify my sex by camera scan in 2029 thank you
@clumsy @Natanox No, it won’t ask for anything. Having full control like root access is not necessary unless you’re OS developer and the device is for debugging only.
@a53bdb @Natanox It's already asking in other countries so I might as well just take the easy way out. And I prefer to APT install stuff without any cockblocks rather than having to fuck around Google Play store or APK signing or whatever bullshit there is in Android
@clumsy @Natanox There are many private app stores like Accrescent. Both Debian and AOSP have to face the same laws. I don’t know what you are talking about, installing apps on Android distributions is much more convenient than GNU/Linux distributions. That means you don’t have to worry about bricking your devices(dependencies) and signing(security).

@a53bdb @clumsy Maimuaika just said they don't want to use some app store. They want to go "sudo apt <package" and be fine.

Also your argument is wildly misleading because it's *technically* correct, but AOSP is maintained (and constantly neutered) by a megacorp while Debian is a trusted community project.

@Natanox @clumsy Maintainers’ locations don’t affect security of the project. when a way is safer and faster, it is recommended in my opinion.
@a53bdb @clumsy Dude, when someone says "I want something" the correct answer isn't "that's not necessary". Don't try to argue with personal preference.
@Natanox @clumsy There is a more secure way to control how system work, I can’t imagine why root is still needed.
