I see a lot of people getting really upset about Discord enshitification. How. Many. Fucking. Times. When you invest your life into a corporate owned, shareholder run platform, it *will* become unusable. We've seen this over and over. Why do you keep making the same mistake?
@anon_opin ircv3 is actually pretty compelling
@anon_opin @oliversampson Discord has always been shit. Discord is still shit. Discord will always be shit.
@anon_opin People are idiots
@anon_opin the same can be said for anything involving corporate shareholders, the never ending greed quest of endless profit growth always leads down the same path

@anon_opin Oxygen slowly kills us yet we keep breathing it.

"Wow this platform that does one thing I really like is suddenly becoming shitty. I guess I'll go to one of its exactly zero competitors. What an idiot I am."

@anon_opin I started using it at around 12, when i wasn't really conscious about all of that, and it was presented as pretty much the only option around. And that's the case of most of my friends that are there.
@anon_opin I forgive teenagers. You have to learn somehow

@anon_opin Because it is Oh. So. Convenient. At first.

Which is why I'm still scolded for not using WathsApp. Because EVERYONE is using that!1!!

@anon_opin it used to be a lot better then teamspeak. Discord looked more like an experiment at first. All the extra features and advertising came later. The other day when discord broke down, our guild had to return to the built in voice channel of world of warcraft which was not user friendly at all.
