Ilhan Omar (D-MN) of having “definitely committed immigration fraud” and said that he’d recently spoken with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller about how best to “go after her.” Speaking on a podcast hosted by MAGA influencer Benny Johnson on Friday, Vance was asked about claims that Omar had defrauded the United States by marrying her brother to secure his legal residency. The unsubstantiated claim has circulated in MAGA circles for years but has been denied by Omar multiple times. The congresswoman was born in Somalia but moved to Minneapolis with her family in 1997, fleeing the civil war.

“In 2002, Omar and Hirsi reportedly applied for a marriage license. The couple married in an Islamic ceremony but never completed the process for a civil marriage, according to Hirsi. By 2008, Hirsi and Omar had separated (per Islamic custom). After that relationship ended, Omar had a civil marriage with Elmi in 2009. When that relationship ended, Elmi moved to England and they divorced per Islamic practice in 2011, but without receiving a legal divorce.

Omar later reconciled with Hirsi and remarried in an Islamic ceremony. In 2017, Omar formally petitioned for divorce from Elmi, and legally wed Hirsi in 2018. Hirsi and Omar legally divorced in 2019.

J. D. Vance and Trump are the kind of people that simply don’t deserve to be part of a society, because all they do is evil and selfish.
They should be expelled to live in some remote uninhabited region, and never be allowed back to civilization.
But since we don’t have that practice, they are also the kind of people that actually deserve the death penalty, because they have caused mass death of innocent people, contrary to many that have actually received a death penalty.
These people are so despicable that they are no better than serial killers, yet at election day half the voters supported getting such an administration. And still more than a third support them, and the only reason it has declined is because of oil prices going up. All the sociopathic shit they do is OK!

She’s probably a self hating Asian who would rather have a racist partner as long as he’s white than be with an Asian man. It’s like short women who only want a tall partner because they feel insecure and need to compensate. But here it’s a woman who feels that her non-whiteness is inferior and thus she needs to compensate by marrying a white man. And with that inferiority complex she attracts racist men.

It gets confusing because usually people just call them asian too 💀 i say “east asian” though because everyone knows you mean chinese, korean et cetera in that case, and you might specify south asian for indians, pakistanis etc.

In the UK we have more south asians than east asians, but I’m pretty sure it’s the inverse in america. So if somekne in the uk says describes someine as “asian,” it’s a safer bet that they mean “indian subcontinent” or middle east rather than East-Asian.

That’s all insane. Firstly imagine calling the average man of every country but the Netherlands a dwarf. But also as a woman who’s nearly 6’ short women hurt my back. I still date them because I don’t really consider height a major concern in partners. Also I’ve hidden behind multiple short exes. One is 5’2" and built like a bear with an attitude of pure willingness to do violence for loved ones.

Sigh, but yeah I’ve noticed a lot of short women are insecure about their heights as well. And it’s weird because many of us tall women are also insecure about ours. I have to try not to loom over other women (and sometimes over men). When I wear heels (which is usually formal events) I stick out like a sore thumb even more. Back on reddit the tallgirls community was really helpful to find other women experiencing the same awkwardness.

This is such a poor understanding / oversimplification of Indian culture and history.

First it’s important to point out that much of America was an apartheid stated based on a race based caste system for most of its history. You know which race was high caste and which was low. If not, ask your grandparents (or parents for that matter).

Can anyone today look at those of the race that was high caste and assume that they continue to look down on the historically low caste? No, it’s not that simple.

Usha came from a family of scholars who were well regarded as philanthropists and educators in their village.

Assuming you know anything about her individually based on her caste is actually incredibly… casteist. Its equivalent to saying every white person must be a racist.

I think she made a terrible choice in JD. But let’s not assume to know the woman based on incomplete presumptions.

I went to school for Anthropology. I know not to make assumptions about cultures. I’m not making an assumption about members of caste systems today, but what it was like and what some continues to be like. And there is absolutely no way she isn’t racist or hates the low class if she can still stand by her husband. It’s not like it was an arranged marriage. She picked him, she can leave him.

It’s like looking at a white guy who’s racist and saying, yep, it’s because he comes from a long line of racists. It’s as simple as that.

If only going to school in anthropology meant you were knowledgeable in every culture.

You were clearly made an assumption about her belief system based on her caste. It’s no different than you looking at another person and assuming how they think based on their race.

I’d hope an education in anthropology would prevent that type of ignornance but apparently not.

If you want to judge her based on her words and actions I welcome that. If you’re going to make assumptions based on immutable characteristics then you are engaging in bigotry, anthropology degree or not.

My personal standard is to not tolerate “these people are like this because they were born that way” no matter where it comes from. You shouldn’t tolerate it either.

The DOJ doesn’t answer to Vance unless Trump is gone though… Unless Trump is going to claim the VP has authorities not defined by his role, which I really doubt the Republican party wants to give more power to those positions right now seeing how sketchy everything looks for their future.
