My two bobs worth on the road that we all travel.

An LNG terminal has GOT to be off the table.
Diesel supply has to be top of our fuel requirements .Priority given to farmers and transport companies.
All viable alternatives to fossil fuel need to be considered and built at pace.( except of course Nuclear.) Solar, wind, geothermal, hydro. Includes Energy storage systems. Government investment vs loans to private enterprise.
Public transport to be expanded.
Our rail network electrified. Railway investment in railcars for short travel and Intercity passenger trains for longer routes. Government subsidised if necessary.

Better Government.

@BigD Sounds like the right plan to me.
@thirzajane I'm sure there is more if we had the right leadership. So that's not happening, then it's up to us that live in this bountiful land to sort it.
@BigD While we're dreaming, sleepers between Auckland and Wellington both ways every night except Saturday.

@BigD

Of course our #NZPol coalition of fossil fuel dependents will try and make you believe that NZ’s biggest threat is our largest trading partner and world leader in renewable energy technology and development. The reality most of us can see is NZ’s biggest threat is the the war mongering oil merchants holding the world to ransom as a result of their pedo president being held hostage by the Agent #Epstein files.

Obviously NZ’s transformation to energy independence and clean generation will take time to happen so is not an immediate solution to the current pickle the pedo president has unleashed on the world so providing free public transport is something we can do immediately and then making investment into further electrification of our PT and vehicles a priority.

I know, like myself, you’re a Green supporter so not telling you anything you don’t already know but it’s amazing to see how this latest global fiasco as a result of USA’s dumbest war to date, and they’ve started plenty of dumb and illegal wars, has forced Europe, Asia and the global south to recognise the insecurity of relying on fossil fuels as a primary energy source.

Firstly I hope the world hasn’t been destroyed by nuclear war before 7 Nov 2026 and secondly the NZ Greens take this crisis as an opportunity to capitalise on NZers desperate need for energy security and independence. If NZ can be convinced to vote enough Green MPs into government NZ will have the chance to make the ideal a reality. Step 1 instead of investing the current govt’s proposed $12B in to US weapons of war instead invest that money into domestic renewable generation and see an immediate transformation of energy efficiency.

Below is NZ’s Ecotiricity’s video shot in Shenzhen, China a few months ago highlighting the amazing transformation in renewable technology and its affects on the city.

@jeremy_pm Agree with your comments. China is who we should be taking more notice of with their electrification. At least we have a good trade relationship with them so we are seeing benefits with importing solar materials and more of their vehicles, which we need to prioritise their EVs.

@BigD

Yup, sadly our current government is so crooked they’re actually supporting the US morons.

Did you see news US is now actually investing in ending renewable energy projects?

@jeremy_pm Such stupidity on both fronts. What is left of the sane world is turning away from anything American. I too worry about our own governments direction or rather, misdirection.
They have to go in November.
@BigD Great Green policies!! 💚. #enrol #vote
@BigD Two bobs with excellent ROI.
@runoutgroover Unfortunately, very little will be forthcoming until 7th November. Oh, a new road or two might be started.
