And this is what should concern every woman and every person who loves & cares about girls & women. That all people identifying as girls & women could be called to prove their “femaleness”. From a young age I have pushed against narrow definitions of “femininity”.

Why it is anyone else’s business to know or care about another’s sex or gender outside of intimate relationships is beyond me. And obviously, for some people it’s not even an issue within intimate relationships.

I get that some female athletes might feel worried that a trans athlete might possibly have an advantage, and I don’t know who to believe about whether that is a real possibility, but statistically it seems hugely insignificant.

The real anxiety is clearly being experienced by transphobes, for no real reason whatsoever.

arrant unbridled #transmisia is at the heart of this. detestable transmisics have found their perfect attack vector; weaponise women against themselves via the trope of "there's no such thing as transwomen, they're only dangerous men in dresses". this masterfully evil strategy is so effective;

  • outside sport coz they then can push the lie that transwomen can & should be excluded from all public life as they are "dangerous men aiming to rape & hurt women"
  • inside sport coz they then can push the lie that transwomen, "being men", ipso facto "have physical superiority over women thus rendering competition unfair"
  • coz not only for its "women against women" antipathy-creation, but then coz malign-intent dickswingers also can jump onto the bandwagon carrying matches with jerrycans of petrol, piously claiming their sole interest is "to defend real women"

i just feel so continuously sick in the heart at all this unremitting ignorant hatred. that transmisics have cleverly discovered this new line of attack whose thin veneer of "respectability" has proven impenetrable to so many who otherwise know nothing of transwomen but have allowed themselves to be swayed by the misdirection, only rubs kilograms of salt into the wound.

it is, however, much worse than "just" that. some of us can clearly see the big-picture long-game being played, globally, over this last decade, by ignorance-laden hate-drenched RWNJs & christo-fascists:

  • refute & reject the reality that sex & gender are different, assert unceasingly they are the same
  • therefore, transpeeps do not exist, they are not a real thing, & any who defy this are dangerous radicals who must be destroyed
  • all present-day adult transpeeps must be debunked, depowered [the sick irony of this implicit lie!], constrained, contained, excluded, removed [sport being but one part of this]
  • no future adult transpeeps must be allowed to arise, ergo we shall deny all medical & social support to transkids, force them to undergo the hideous wrong-puberty that will destroy their futures, then those who don't suicide will be dealt with like we now treat their demonic adult peers

    • just imagine the possibilities for actual human progress in areas of genuine need, if this horrific strawman war of hatred had been avoided by decency, empathy, & understanding... + absence of skyfairy-delusionality.

    Quite apart from the trauma & cruelty etc, (hugely significant & not to be ignored!) it’s all such an enormous waste of time energy, resources etc. Like we can’t use all that stuff to work on actual problems? So much trauma & waste arising from so much BS.

    @Susan60 @MsDropbear42 especially when you consider that trans people only count for about 1% of the population. That is a lot of hate directed to a very small minority by a LOT of self proclaimed 'Christians'. Jesus wept.
