Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my questions about how my posts are received, & what I may be doing well or where I can improve. I truly value your input. Now I would love to hear from fellow #naturists here. Would you be willing to share a short piece about how you came to #Naturism, & the ways it has positively influenced & enriched your life? Your stories may inspire others who are curious, hesitant, or just beginning their own journey into #Naturism.
@SydneyJim my parents are prudes, and thus raised me the same. Naked bodies were not meant to be seen. But i felt better and happier naked. I started by stripping of my uniform after school, put it in the laundry and walk naked to my room to get other clothes. Must have been about 9.
Later i would start sunning maked on our balcony which was outside my bedroom and be naked when home alone.
When i left to live by myself I started going to nude beaches and be naked home a lot more.

@ducksarecooltoo Thank you for sharing that. It can be hard to break away from the patterns & beliefs of our parents.

When I met my partner we also went to nude resorts, and holidays.
There is not much room for nudr hikes here, but I have done it
@SydneyJim Nudity wasn’t a thing when I was growing up. It was simply never mentioned. My first recollection of curiosity was seeing a photo of my friend’s dad on a nude beach where he was stationed in Israel. When I came to Vancouver on a coop term in university, I learned there was a nude beach here, and convinced my roommate to go. Arriving at the foot of the stairs, I simply decided “when in Rome, do as Romans.” I never looked back!
@SydneyJim My journey into naturism and nudity started when I stopped wearing pyjamas in my teens. Later, when I was living in Scotland I used to find quiet places where I could remove my clothes and be naked, even for just a few minutes. When I moved back south I joined a naturist club, went to naturist swims and discovered a naturist walking group. These activities introduced me to the social side of naturism. /cont
@SydneyJim Work pressures meant that for a few years I had very little time for these activities. After retirement I moved to a house with a sheltered garden and was able to be naked around the house and outdoors. About this time I joined a naked male social group that met monthly. This group has flourished and I have met and befriended many naturists. /cont

@SydneyJim I joined British Naturism about 12 years ago and it is a useful source of naturist friendly activities and locations. Last year, at the end of September after returning from a holiday, I decided to commit to being naked at home. 6 months on I have only worn clothes at home when we had visitors and in the garden during cold weather.

If you have any questions about my naturist activities I'll be happy to answer them.

@nakedgerry Thank you ever so much for sharing your #Naturist life. It is always fascinating to hear how others became #Naturists. I hope by us all sharing our stories it will inspire others.
