#Naturists are not swingers, full stop. #Naturism is entirely non-sexual, with no overlap, no grey area, & no hidden meaning. It stands for respect, equality, & the simple acceptance of the human #body as it is. Any claim that links #Naturism with sex is flatly wrong. Those who push that narrative are not practising #Naturism, they are distorting it for their own agenda.
Online exhibitionism undermines the efforts of #naturists to promote #BodyPositivity & self-acceptance. Instead of fostering a healthy relationship with #nudity & embracing diverse #body types, it reinforces unrealistic beauty standards & objectifies individuals for the pleasure of others.
@nakedgerry Thank you ever so much for sharing your #Naturist life. It is always fascinating to hear how others became #Naturists. I hope by us all sharing our stories it will inspire others.
The promotion of #Naturism requires a careful balance. Images & writing must be thoughtful, avoiding anything that could be misinterpreted while still conveying #authenticity. This creates a constant tension between honesty & caution. I & many other #Naturists feel we must censor ourselves to remain within acceptable social boundaries, which can dilute the message we wish to share.
For #Naturism, the rise of online platforms has created both opportunity & risk. #Naturists can now connect, share experiences, & build a community across great distances. However, these same platforms often impose strict moderation policies that conflate #naturism with explicit content. Accounts may be removed or restricted, limiting visibility & discouraging open expression. We are forced to hide #Naturist images behind a mosaic.
Legal ambiguity presents another ongoing difficulty to #Naturists. In many places, laws surrounding #nudity are unclear or inconsistently enforced. What is acceptable in one region may be penalised in another, leaving #naturists uncertain of our rights. This uncertainty discourages participation & limits opportunities for safe, open practice, especially in public or semi public environments. (1/2)
Closely tied to misunderstanding is the persistence of stigma. #Social norms around clothing are deeply ingrained, & those who step outside them are frequently judged harshly. #Naturists may be labelled as inappropriate or attention seeking, even when our intent is quiet & personal. This stigma affects not only public perception but also employment, relationships, & #social acceptance in subtle yet ongoing ways. (2/2)
Thank you to everyone who took the time to respond to my questions about how my posts are received, & what I may be doing well or where I can improve. I truly value your input. Now I would love to hear from fellow #naturists here. Would you be willing to share a short piece about how you came to #Naturism, & the ways it has positively influenced & enriched your life? Your stories may inspire others who are curious, hesitant, or just beginning their own journey into #Naturism.
I’d genuinely value hearing from fellow #naturists here on #Mastodon, as well as those curious about embracing #naturism, about how my efforts to promote a respectful, non sexual #naturist culture are being received. Are my wife & I presenting this in a way that feels honest, balanced, & worthwhile? Your perspective matters, whether you are experienced or just beginning to explore #naturism. I want to ensure what I share resonates meaningfully with you all. (1/2)
#Naturists are justified in taking a hard stance. Protecting these spaces is not exclusionary, it is necessary. If #naturism is to exist with integrity in the modern digital world, it must be defended with clarity, consistency, & the willingness to remove those who refuse to #respect its foundations. (5/5)
