@rbreich magats tell me he is implementing Sharia Law, amplifying the call to prayer throughout the city, promoting Islamic businesses, raising the cost of living even more, etc. etc.
Don’t know where they’re getting that information. I must be so uninformed!
I come from a different time, 1940's. A time when Minimum Wage was Living Wage, when public school actually taught, when education was cheap enough to get a degree w/o debt, when everyone's civil rights were a priority, a time when "we the people" mattered. There has never been a reason not to have that, except certain people felt their ideas were better than everyone else's. The groups were Religion & Business. Thank the GOP. They brought fear into politics.
Also started an initiative to build a couple thousand more public restrooms around the city. A seemingly mundane concern, but anyone who's walked NYC knows this a huge benefit for your average person, especially with congestion pricing encouraging more people to walk/bike and use public transit.
