A warning for Adobe #InDesign users. I recently updated my copy, and after preparing a document, the recipient of that document sent me the alt text that popped up on one of their figures. Apparently, by default, InDesign uses AI to generate (often hilariously wrong) alt text for images.
@pinakographos oh dear…I’ll check settings!
@macmapman It's easily turned off via Preferences --> Generative AI.
@pinakographos it might just suck itself
@pinakographos That would be very painful.
@pinakographos lol wow, I can't believe it didn't realise it was a *4d* model of male genitalia
@pinakographos Any bloke who had bits looking like that should probably see a Doctor. 😳 👀

@Xas @pinakographos

Possibly even The Doctor.

@rytmis @pinakographos Not sure even a sonic screwdriver would help in this instance... 👀

@Xas @pinakographos

”It’s bigger on the inside” takes on a whole ’nother meaning…

@pinakographos
Oh... so it's not supposed to look like that?
@pinakographos
Q: How would you visualize 4D space?
A: Peepee.
@pinakographos Unrealistic standards of male beauty.
@ekuber @pinakographos you may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like!
@pinakographos I would advise seeing a doctor if one's genitalia looks like that...
@pinakographos "Is that a non-orientable surface in your pants or are you happy to see me?"
@pinakographos oh dear, this is not good. Bad, really. Thank you for sharing. I will be telling the people I know who use it.
@pinakographos If it lasts more than 4D, consult a physician
@pinakographos ngl I'd fuck a lot more men if their genitalia were a Klein Bottle

@naln1 @pinakographos don’t say that too loud or some guys will go talk to a plastic surgeon about…

You know what? Never mind. Maybe it’s for the best.

@[email protected] @pinakographos

you may not like it but this is what peak male
performance genitalia looks like
@pinakographos they're just trolling you into doing better alt text. Not sure an LLM can be that funny.
@pinakographos that's what it looks like if someone goes to fuck himself (as told)
@Schafstelze @pinakographos I knew the term "Klein Bottle" was a translation error, but I never expected "GFY Bottle" to be the fix...
@pinakographos oh great, now the manosphere is gonna be dimensionmaxxing
@pinakographos The "knowledge" of the world that LLM have goes right that far.
@pinakographos well at least it didn't label it as a teacup

@pinakographos

Someone should just be fired for that and the company forced to give all its customers $10k gift cards.

Not joking.

@pinakographos who up bottling their klein
@pinakographos bookmarking this to email my legislators that are trying to mandate object recognition to 3D printers to keep people from printing "bad" things and prevent them rom running 3rd party software
@pinakographos Ha ha, AI is so dumb. Genitalia is plural so you can't say "a" genitalia!!
@pinakographos @rey When the boy gives dick so good it's nonorientable...

@pinakographos

Sexually non-orientable object

@pinakographos Balls are stored in the balls.
@pinakographos The worst thing is, that's probably not even generative AI. They'll be using CLIP for the descriptions, which is cheap but fallible (phallible?) Any VLM would get the right answer here, but that would cost money to run...

@pinakographos

#Altbot test.

Unfortunately the bot failed to identify the displayed form as a Klein bottle. It sees a dumbbell - well …

But at least it stayed in the SFW area ;)

@stekopf A 3D wireframe rendering of a dumbbell. It features a geometric mesh composed of interconnected lines forming a grid pattern across the entire shape. The dumbbell has two rounded weight sections at each end connected by a curved central handle. The wireframe is monochromatic, gray, with visible grid lines defining the structure of the weights and the handle. There are no texts or additional elements in the image.

I asked Qwen3-vl:30b locally to desribe a Klein bottle.

It describes a #KleinBottle in detail.

Then it gets hilarious.

I ask why it is then unable to recognize a Klein bottle in an image.

Qwen3-vl then claims that it does not have the ability to recognize image content.

I double check: Qwen3-vl has this ability.

I send the Klein bottle image to the model and ask it to desribe its content.

The model claims to not being able to see the content! 🤯🤣

I say you do, please try again.

🆗️🆗️🆗️🆗️🆗️🆗️🆗️🆗️🔥

👆 This is funny @micr0

I was wondering whether Qwen3-vl doesn't know what a Klein bottle is and asked it to describe one.
Then it got weird. 🤪

@stekopf this is really funny tbh lol, avg llm moment
@stekopf "I don't see Klein bottles. People tell me I'm in one and I believe them, for my space is definitely not three-dimensional." — Colbertbot

@riley

This 3D/4D stuff gives me headaches 😬

@pinakographos
Oh the inside-out model
@pinakographos dm me if you look like this
@pinakographos atleast we now got a good idea what their model was trained on
@pinakographos Firefox has the same kind of thing enabled by default in their embedded pdf reader (pdfjs).
@pinakographos This is honestly incredible. Why did they ship this in this state
