Mainly for older classic movies, many of which were on one streaming sub service or another at some point, but then mostly mysteriously disappeared...

Adelina@firstdogonthemoon I don't think many know these but libraries are so underrated. They often have free film streaming, dvds, ebooks, audiobooks, free newspapers and magazines. These resourses can be loaned, supporting public libraries instead of giving more profits to billionaires. You don't even have to visit in person if you use their digital services. Obviously they won't have the exclusive series and films, but it's not the end of the world.

rood@firstdogonthemoon I put my flatmate onto opshop DVDs, and he hasn't looked back. All but the finale to something called Lonesome Dove escapes his clutches. The old fish tank table is piled high. The John Wayne collection is growing accordingly.
I feel a lot saner too, now that he doesn't yell at SBS and Gem programming as much.
