Oil prices rise as optimism about Middle East ceasefire fades

(Montel) Oil prices rose early on Thursday as optimism over a potential ceasefire in the Middle East faded after Iran signalled it was not prepared to negotiate, despite acknowledging receipt of a US 15-point peace proposal.
