By far the hardest PS2 game I’ve ever played, how do I beat this shit
@ihatecompvir an 'open world' classic...

@ihatecompvir

Don't even try.

If you type "top" you'll see there's about 1000 players with higher scores than yours.

@pdmckone @ihatecompvir Probably just needs to try the BTW fork ;)
@ihatecompvir uh that's cool. would love that for my Wii
@ihatecompvir You'll need a keyboard.
@ihatecompvir thats not a game thats an operating system
When you get good at it try "Arch Difficulty"
@ihatecompvir figure out how to exit vim
@ihatecompvir been playing the PC port since 1999 and haven’t gotten anywhere yet 🥲
@ihatecompvir try this cheat code - sudo rm -rf /
You draw a circle in gimp
@ihatecompvir a strange game. the only winning move is not to play.
@ihatecompvir sudo rm -rf / --no-preserve-root
@ihatecompvir I've only ever played the sequel. They introduced an "easy" difficulty level, but then took it away later.
@ihatecompvir Can they port this to the Switch? :D
@ihatecompvir that shit beats you
@ihatecompvir at least it has a bunch of free dlc

@ihatecompvir

The cheat code is:

sudo rm -rf / --no-preserve-root

😌

@ihatecompvir killing PID 1 is the hardest boss fight, made me kernel panic.

@ihatecompvir ::taps wrong combo::

::goes into VIM::

"Oh, shit ..."

Did you mastered the end boss named „vim“?

@ihatecompvir

@ihatecompvir i remember playing with that when i was a kid! it was kinda neat because the disc also had hardware documentation for the emotion engine and a bunch of other stuff that i was too silly of a creature to wrap my head around at the time. i remember trying and mostly failing to get random stuff from sourceforge to build, which was sometimes frustrating as a linux newbie. it was a fun little devkit to tinker around in, though, even if i had no idea what i was doing
@ihatecompvir well, i was a teenager at that point, but still basically a kid. either way, i learned some things and had a lot of fun
@ihatecompvir 10th anniversary Gentoo edition is 🔥. There's an easter egg in that edition where there is a Richard Stallman cut scene that lasts 35 minutes about copyleft licensing models and cannot be skipped.
@ihatecompvir With kernel 2.2.1 I think that some level of "you must unlearn what you have learned" may be involved.
@ihatecompvir sudo rm -rf --no-preserve-root /*
