My experience as a bikepacker, and my review of the Hudski Dualist

A blog about bicycles, Oakland, California, roads, trails, history.

@morgan @bikenite Great writeup & thanks for the shout! I run Mezcal rear and Barzo front (both in TNT casing) on my ATB. I've worn through a few over the years and they've been reliable, no sidewall tears, and the right combination of weight, grip & speed for my bikepacking adventures.
@morgan @bikenite I also enjoyed all the details of your generator & light setup. I've thus far avoided touring at night and get away carrying a small battery pack & a headlamp, but someday may want to upgrade to a generator...
@cutting I have been in a group where we were competing for outlets at camps and bike shops. With this setup, I can charge my own power bank, have guaranteed lighting and blinkie, and just stress a bit less. The nice thing about this specific headlight is that it can also accept power in, if for instance I want the full 700 lumens and I'm not going fast enough to generate power for it.
