Roll 1969park11, cont.: Berkeley (May 30, 1969)

As I said earlier, this is a personal view of our journey up to the march on People's Park. I have no memory of the rest of that day, so I'm having to put the remainder of this narrative together from the photos.

One: We are on the Bay Bridge (the old one), and since we're coming from Berkeley, we must be going to San Francisco, presumably to visit friends or relatives of our driver.

Two: We seem to be at a small airfield. What it is and where it is and who this guy is and why we are here is all a complete mystery. The only non-SFO airport I know of around there is the Alameda Naval Air Station, and this ain't it. But this frame is physically located between the shots of the Bay Bridge and a completely different scene that I will show pictures of tomorrow, all of them on the same strip of negatives. So it didn't wander in from some other timeline.
@bosak Half Moon Bay?
@paulehoffman Given that the rest of the day following the march itself is a blank for me, I guess that Half Moon Bay would be a real possibility. We would have taken the (then new) San Mateo Bridge and connecting highways (which are all interstates now) back to 99 from there for the drive south. If the airfield looks like a match, that would be the most likely explanation. Thanks for that!

Love the composition.
