Roll 19707210: Riverside (1970-72)

Apparently I am carrying around a 6x6 TLR in this sequence. I have some more new work to show, but I'm inserting this set as a contribution to #TLRTuesday.

One: A friend of ours.

Roll 19707208: Riverside (1970-72)

At our local drive-in movie theater (the Arlington, if I remember correctly).

One: A playground of some kind was always provided back then to keep the kids occupied till it got dark.

Roll 19707209, cont.: Riverside County (1970-72)

Some of the local Indians (Chemehuevis) marked the boundaries of their region by meeting once a year and spending the night reciting from memory, in minute detail, the landmarks one would encounter in a circuit on foot around the whole area. It's probably as good a system of land title as any.

Out in the desert, continued.

Continuing this roll of desert scenes just in time for #TLRTuesday.

Roll 19707209: Riverside County (1970-72)

When I dropped out of UCR for a bit (and acquired a car) I finally started to become aware of the natural environment I was living in. Riverside County is larger than three states of the U.S.; if it were a state, it would rank just behind New Jersey in area, and most of that area is desert. Which I came to find quite lovely.

I like the four pictures from this roll of 120 well enough to show them individually.

Roll 19707207: Riverside (1967-68?)

It's obvious that the subject of today's roll is the Riverside Community Hospital building. What's not clear is when I took these photos and why I was interested enough too shoot a very rare roll of store-bought Plus-X rather than the usual bulk-loaded Tri-X. I'm going to guess that this was an early technical exercise, but it could date from as late as the early 1970s.

Set One.
