The #EuropeanParliament has again rejected #chatcontrol v1 in a dramatic vote today. This means that the current chat control regulation will expire on April 3rd.

The fight continues over chatcontrol V2!

#DemocracyInAction

@jmaris And, to even call this re-vote speks of the amount of lobbying and corruption within EU upper echelons!

Undemocratic AF ๐Ÿคฌ

@gimulnautti it's not corruption. And in all honesty (as someone who worked on the CSAM regulation) when it comes to MEPs, they are voting for the most part because they genuinely believe they are solving a problem. Don't mistake for malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence.

As for the EPPs recent manoeuvres, they are technically not illegal or antidemocratic (it is a vote after all) although they are lacking respect for parliament's established position.

@jmaris This is great news. I don't know what it will take to completely bury #chatcontrol but, at the least, this slows #chatcontrol when it's trying to bury us.
@jmaris am I reading this right,it was stopped by ONE VOTE?!? Jesus H. tap-dancing Christ.
@jmaris very good. I hope v2 gets shot down as well.

@jmaris as I wrote elsewhere, amongst the Italian MEPs, the only ones who voted against it were the communists and the Lega, which is a party literally founded on racism as an ideology. WTF!

ALL the members of the Democratic Party voted in favour. I repeat myself, WTAF!!!
