For the 50 states and Puerto Rico, the U.S. Drought Monitor shows 46.97% in moderate drought or worse, compared to 45.81% last week.

Drought and dryness worsened in parts of the West, with some improvement in Washington and Montana. Conditions also worsened in parts of the High Plains and South. Improvements occurred in parts of the Northeast and Hawaii. Mixed conditions occurred in parts of the Midwest and Southeast, plus Alaska.
