🀯 Anyone else here unfortunate enough to suffer from migraine attacks? What are your coping tips and tricks?

Today's chaotic weather in Manchester has knocked me out for the day, a particularly violent one! My biggest migraine trigger is this kind of weather/pressue system.

Photo of a lovely abandoned chateau in France (my bedroom sadly isn't as cosy-looking as this one!). See you all tomorrow πŸ’™

Forgive me if this is a repost - I tried earlier and I think it failed...

Anyway:
This is really odd. I've read the replies thus far in the thread and a common theme seems to be pain and or vomiting and/or diarrhea.

Mine is not like that, so I probably need to talk to my GP!

On odd occasions, I will catch a 'sharp' light reflection from something and it will 'stick' in my vision. At that point I know I cannot drive or watch TV or similar for at least half an hour.

Then I start getting the 'kaleidoscope vision' thing in an arc around that point (which is always in the centre of my view). That arc will grow wider, until after about 25 mins, it has expanded outside my field of view, at which point normal life may now continue.

I can confirm however that the advice about a dark room or subdued light helps me a lot when that is going on.

Migraine with "auras" (the lights you describe), definitely get this checked with a drs just in case. Probably nothing to worry about, but might be safe.

I get 2 types of migraine. More minor pain, with these lights and blurry tunnel vision or partial sight loss in one eye. More debilitating ones with intense headache, projectile vomiting every 20 mins or so, usually ends up with me passing out after being sick 5-6x

One of my reasons for deferring the Dr thing right now is that the visual artifact thing started about 4yrs ago, but then in the last 6mths I've had a cataract operation on 1 eye, and I'm still wondering if fixing that might have fixed the other. We shall see, I guess!
