I checked the Z-axis and it was juddering again, so did a few up/down and it seems clear. So this issue is not completely clear, which is annoying.
I'll how this print goes - more supports...

@tripplehelix @LovesTha @flangey Wow, the release film is not hard to replace, and I have a box with a few sheets. Did several times when this issue first came up, assuming that was the cause. Just a few (40 or so) screws š
A spare vat, LCD, cover, etc, all make sense though. Odd to type "vat" and mean "vat" and not "VAT"!
@tripplehelix @LovesTha @flangey Quite, the logic is simple, there will be bits that can break, and a set of spare parts of all except the z-axis motor, is not a stupid thing to have. No need for UV or air filter or more resin, just the main unit.
I'll see what they say.
I'll also do the up/down to clear issue and see if it gradually gets better over time, who knows.

Also water based resin so not too bad. Should I dare go to the ABS like at some point?
@tripplehelix @LovesTha @flangey FYI this is the first time we have used 3D (FDM and resin) to test out a case design for a product.
What is fun is that maybe 30 years ago, this was possible, but very expensive. I recall in Nokia when we got printed sample cases for new phone. Allowed testing of how it all goes together.
These days it is dead cheap and easy, but I recall it was really expensive and justified because the setup cost of injection moulding was so high as well.
@tripplehelix @LovesTha @flangey You say that, but JLC are dead cheap, really, and I use to print 100 off cases for some boards. But they are small, hence low cost.
The annoying part is DHL is the same cost again on top to get from China to here.
If someone did a JLC 3D print at the same price in UK I would be ecstatic!
The #Stargate cost a bit more due to volume and again DHL on top.
So I print prototypes here, and then order volume from China.

Back in a previous life, around the year 2000 we got 5 case prototypes 3D printed in resin for a new product. From memory they cost about Ā£26,000. Still far cheaper than having the moulds for the actual product go wrong. And this was a small company producing process instrumentation.
I could knock them out in a day now for less than the price of a pint.

Ivor Hewitt@jamesb @revk @tripplehelix @LovesTha @flangey it's just crazy (to me) just what we're able to make as individuals/hobbyists now. I look at a small 4 layer SMD circuit board I thought of, designed, and manufactured and it's just mind blowing.
Now I just need to work out how to make more time for the ideas I keep having! We don't seem to have solved the "finite time" issue yet.
