Even though mine is quite dated now, series 6, it allows me to take photos/videos, set a waypoint on a map, get directions, read my messages/mail, play music, tell the temperature/tides/sunrise & sunset, tell the weather, tell me where I parked my car, pay for things at the shops & pay for public transport, plus numerous other useful things. Very, very convenient.
Oh, & it tells the time/date!
