Fits like a glove. So it is for the interface unit suitcase. I guess they need the extra height so the vents have enough space to get rid of the heat. #pcengine #PCエンジン

There is no video pass through, it only takes RCA plugs for audio. So if I want to use it with an RGB modded #pcengine, I will have to make a special cable with the audio split. It does have pass-through 110V. #PCエンジン

Once opened up, we can see there are a lot of caps in this thing. They still "look" OK. The power button (most left side) construction seems to be a bit of a over the top design. #pcengine #PCエンジン

Checked the auction. My uncle didn't leave a piece out, it was already missing from the auction. For those who are interested, I won the auction for this at ¥32450 (€192). After shipping, etc it came down to about €222. #pcengine #PCエンジン #yahooauctions

Finished the cap map, shared in a new post and uploaded it to consolemods wiki. I don't have all the needed caps, so shelving the AMP for now. Have placed an order for the missing caps.

Caps arrived. Removed all the old caps first. Big ones were glued, but fortunately not very hard to get off. Used an xacto knife to cut the glue a bit, then removed the solder from the holes. While heating one of the points gently bend it until it comes off, switching sides if nessecary. #pcengine

Got about half done. Calling it a night. Tomorrow a long day ahead, will be working from 09:00 to around midnight. So hopefully I will find some time to finish this the day after. #pcengine #PCエンジン #retrorevival

Finished replacing all the caps. Almost forgot about the two caps inside the front panel. Will need to update the cap map. But first let's see if it still works... #pcengine #PCエンジン #retrorevival

And this is the reason why those three caps were low profile caps. But if you install them on their sides (which I should have done), it should be OK.

Still works! Phew.... Shat my pants just now. Power led turned on but I was not getting any sound. Turned out it takes about 4sec for the relay to switch and as impatient as I was each time I tested I did not wait that long until the 4th time. #retrorevival
