The Hague Invasion Act gives the president power to use "all means necessary and appropriate to bring about the release of any U.S. or allied personnel being detained or imprisoned by, on behalf of, or at the request of the International Criminal Court" (ICC), located in The Hague, Netherlands.
@criffer @hannah It is less about the law applying to an outside government and more about the authorization to use military force to prevent the extradition or trial by a court that Americans are not a signatory to.
That could mean kidnapping, air strikes (just stuff we've seen in the last few weeks), invasion (maybe a week or two from now).
Just something for the Hague to consider before they decide to try. Denmark considered blowing up its airfields to prepare for a Greenland invasion.
