I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’m officially switching to supporting the provincial Greens moving forward from here. The BC NDP should just admit that the acronym stands for “Neo-liberals Duping Progressives” and be done with it. This is grotesque, undemocratic, and unconscionable on every level.

B.C. mulls changes to weaken DRIPA, shares secret document with First Nations leaders

Premier David Eby has been facing growing questions over the future of the legislation, and has been criticized over the process in which changes are being discussed.

@Caution Same.
@mykl I’ve been pretty down on the Greens in the past due to their early tendencies to support pseudoscience and such shenanigans, but they’ve changed a lot, and they’re also a lot more openly supportive of the LGBT+ community (last election, the NDP barely mentioned us (if at all, I’d need to go check) in their platform, as opposed to the Greens.
@Caution Yeah totally I had hoped initially that Eny would be less Brown NDP than Horgan but apparently I was very wrong!
@Caution Welcome to the club. Left under Horgan as the continually turned away from what they claimed were their core principles for decades.
@mikesaul I grew up familiar with Ontario provincial NDP, so when I moved out west I assumed the BC provincial org would be similar, and I wasn’t really paying attention to local politics for a variety of reasons..took me some time to clue in.

@Caution

My personal opinion is the BC Cons were built specifically to drag the Overton window to the right by being so fringe/radical they cannot possibly be elected. But, in the process, they allow the BC NDP race over to the right, occupying the vacuum from right of center to far right.

Yay, BC NDP win. Boo, they are the BC Libs after *they* moved to the right of Glen Campbell. Look at their Union Busting.

The BC Greens are the only progressive and logical party at the moment, imo.
