Into The Blue

A lovely September morning, and we were on the road early to make the most of a good forecast.

The still waters of the wide bay, the clean cyan of the sky with small clouds, the gentle breeze ruffling the long grass, and the warm sun on my shoulders. A perfect moment.

Looking out from Arnarnes across Ísafjarðardjúp in the Westfjords of Iceland. On the right is Bolafjall radar station and viewing platform.

@mo Hmm, the masts are not the radar station, these are the comms and ILS for the approach of the airport in Ísafjörður, situated on the butt of Arnarnes. Think we can see a part of Bolafjall, but the higher mountain to the left is definitely the one above Óshlíð (with the tunnel to Bolungarvík inside).

Fair weather in your photo, this is what it looks like right now:

@sv1
Ah, yes, of course! You're right.
I thought it might not be correct just after I posted it, but thought 🤷‍♀️ "who will know anyway?"
🤣
We've travelled around in March (2016), but only along the south coast. It looked similar to this though!
