treehouse has multiple 10k-follower accounts, like @postmarketOS and @pine64! it’s definitely a cost, but one that we’re willing to take
we do run on a colo though; we could not economically run on a VPS, especially given that a lot of our users reside in the western hemisphere or AU/NZ, and we cannot support hetzner’s AUP for user generated content either
