I'm experiencing the first truly unhinged period of #perimenopause. Three days of spotting, then nothing for three days. Two days of spotting, then nothing for EIGHT days. Now it's started up again. WTF. 😡

It could just stop. Permanently. I wouldn't mind.

@APBBlue Augh. I found when I was peri, Modibody underwear saved my sanity, especially when travelling.
@crinolinerobot I just wear Gladrags liners every day now. 🤷
@APBBlue Menopause is the git that keeps on gitting.

@APBBlue During perimenopause I went most of a year getting light periods every two weeks, then two months, then two weeks, etc. It was regular in an irregular sort of way, and once I figured it out it wasn't so bad, but aarrgghh! It was annoying.

I had very few hot flashes, but lots of sleep disruption. Like, I'm a night person who suddenly couldn't sleep past 5:30AM.

Wishing you a short & easy peri, with lots of good advice & support.

@APBBlue When mine shows up now, it serves literally no purpose but to make me feel sick for a few days. But by gosh it’s gonna stick with me like that annoying acquaintance at a party…
@APBBlue I’m having a similarly irritating weird spotting things lately. Not helped by my doctor’s office responding to my “wtf is this” with “you might want to go to a walk in clinic.” Oh, yes, a walk in clinic is going to do exactly what with this weird perimenopause thing? Tell me to follow up with my PCP most likely? So maybe just get me an appointment, which is why I messaged you.
@APBBlue
Perimenopause is the ultimate insult for being female! For me, I had intense flow and clotting for a couple of years until a bit of hormonal treatment helped with that. There were suggestions that a hysterectomy could fix things, but I wanted to keep my factory parts, if possible. Finally, my doctor sadly told me that my bloodwork showed I was menopausal. He was surprised by my glee. I was super happy not to need tampons any longer on my move to Asia.
@EllenInEdmonton I am looking forward to that!
@APBBlue If it’s just spotting, I don’t mind it. In the last few years I had times where there was nothing at all for weeks, but as soon as I did something exhausting like gardening for a few hours or hike 10 km or had a lot of stress, blood would just rush out of me like nobody’s business. It is a lot better again now ( knock on wood) but for the next few years just accept panty liners and pads as your new best friends.
