I think we really should stop using antifa and just fully say anti-fascist and get them saying they are against anti fascism. Using antifa is giving them some distance and I genuinely think some of their base on't even know that's what it stands

They ask because they genuinely can't see the connection to their actions (genuine questions like "why is no kings an antifa march? What, why?") and when explained they go "ah that makes WAY more sense".
So it's not completely out of the picture that at least some people don't truly get the antifa moniker, and got fed a distorted version of the thing.

StarkRG@VeroniqueB99 It took me several years of reading about anti-fa before I heard Colbert pronounce it as "an-TI-fah" (rhymes with Queen Latifah) and finally understood why people 'were having a hard time understanding what it meant. I still pronounce it as "AN-ti fah" because that's what it is.

Finally they accepted 'anti-fascist' because 'antifa' can be understood as a noun, as the name we give to the members of a club.
