I've just listened to all the ESC entries for 2026. Honestly, apart from Serbia I'm not hoping in anyone, seriously. More than half of the songs sound as if they travelled in time and came here from the 2010s, and it's not bad, it's just nothing game changing or different from all the previous entries. We understand all the countries can produce techno and mainstream pop. Yes, there are songs with folk elements as well and it's cool, hats off. Still it leaves a bad taste in my mouth that now a lot of countries just don't participate because of Israel and if you ask me, I fully understand them. If we banned Russia, let's ban Israel too. And Ukraine. And by this philosophy all the countries which are at war now. Or let Russia come back so there won't be double standards.
All in all, go Serbia, I'm voting for you!

@destranis I think the song selection this year is solid (the 2010s was basically a dark period outside most of the winners) but I won't be watching it this year due to the Israel stuff. Just doesn't feel right after all that's happened.
@Flaky I fully agree with you on watching it. As for the songs, well, some of them just feel very mainstream for me. I mean, most of them aren't unique at all, they try to hop on the Loreen hype and try to win with that style but it never succeeds.
@destranis I don't mind mainstream stuff so I've been happier with the songs this year. I've yet to give Serbia a proper listen to (amongst others, atm my faves are Denmark and Latvia), I feel I'll like it, my Serbian metalhead friend hates it lol. (not because it's Eurovision, mind, both of us love Voyager's track for Australia three years ago)
@Flaky Oh, Latvia is cool as well! I'm a metalhead as well but I liked Serbia.

@destranis My Serbian friend called the lyrics cliché and didn't like the vocalist, but did like the melody.

Latvia's ballad tugged at my heartstrings. Doubt it'll make it to the final but that's much less important for me nowadays. Though Latvia is definitely cooking, this was an entry in their selection show that, while it did really well, failed to win and it's a great song with such a cool staging, especially for a broadcaster like Latvia's with limited resources compared to bigger countries like the UK and Sweden. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bmdfpyip0CQ

@Flaky Then maybe it's even better that I don't understand anything from the lyrics 😂
