fedi evangelists will be blocked on sight, i hate activitypub and i don't give a fuck about decentralisation when activitypub does it in the worst ways.

Friend of mine who's been using Linux told me last night he uses streaming a lot more than local music because the Linux music library player situation is just so dire. Safe to say this was my situation when I was on Linux.
Says a lot about FOSS in this space when people are resorting to using MusicBee in a translation layer.
My friend is having a right game with the Linux Foundation certification and because of the LF's incompetence he has to buy the exam again. I feel like if he went Red Hat or even pivoted to fucking Microsoft he'd have better luck lol

When coming in for a water landing, Xander has you covered. Stay safe or just enjoy the slide.

What would you do if there was a giant Xander pooltoy on top of you?

Apparently a developer for systemd got doxed because he accepted the commit for the DOB field in systemd or something?
Man I'm glad I've moved back to Windows. If this is how the Linux community is, I cannot see a scenario in which the Linux desktop can be saved. The only thing holding the Year of the Linux Desktop back is absolutely not Microsoft at this rate.

Only thing I'm really iffy on is the removal of the "follows you" indicator, but otherwise good stuff here. Mastodon gets a lot of flack, including from me, about its UX esp. given it's the first one at the door fedi-wise, and it's nice to see they're putting UX over decentralisation much like Bluesky did (and we know how that turned out for Bluesky - between the two, Bluesky has the juice). It's fine for people to learn about it later.
