@Netraven @mastodonmigration Laws such as anti-trust, know your customer, and anti-insider trading are intended to do two things (the purpose of the system is what it does.)

1) Prevent the middle class from using all the financial cheat codes the billionaires use (you need scale to pay fixed costs such as lawyers and lobbyists.)

2) Create the illusion of fair play by occasionally busting the hell out of a small time player who acted above his station in life.
