@technocounselor I’m full time on NVDA on windows now. I cannot afford the prices so despite my affection for JAWS it’s just not an option for me anymore. Since making the leap I’ve really come to like it, much more than I thought I would. I honestly don’t think you can be truly good at using a tool like this if you’re always switching away to use another tool when it gets tricky. I’m a much better user of it now as its my only option - beside Narrator of course.

@stevenscott Yeah, that’s why I have resisted the urge to put jaws on this laptop.

@technocounselor @stevenscott I have been using NVDA a lot more lately, and I also like it much more than I ever thought I would.

@JamiePauls @stevenscott There is a lot to like. I wonder what I’m doing wrong in PowerPoint. With jaws running, I can hit f five to run a slideshow, I can arrow through the content, and I can press page down to advance to the next slide. None of that works in NVDA. I wonder if there are alternative keyboard shortcuts that maybe I just don’t know?

@technocounselor @JamiePauls @stevenscott I too, wanted you to stay on NVDA when I purchased my latest mini book. However, just like you, PowerPoint presentation, which are crucial this semester for one of my classes will not be red correctly with NVDA. It was after I ran the print PowerPoint presentation with Jaws, that NVDA started to behave like it was supposed to. (1/2)
