I'm a blind male working at a school district as a para professional for the VI department. I love learning new things and show how things work. I'm interested in assistive technology and am learning how to read and write braille music. I'm originally from Mexico but now live in the Central Valley in California. I also am trying to learn how to play a handful of instruments.
SM Readmate - Free and Accessible E-Book Reader | Sao Mai Center for the Blind (SMCB)

SM Readmate is a free, simple, fully accessible and powerful eBook reading app designed to make reading smarter, smoother, and more enjoyable for all users.

It looks as Sao Mai Center for the Blind has done it again. The same Vietnamese blind center who brought SMB Music Reader and the free option of an accessible braille transcribing software has now released a free eReader for Android and Windows. Just downloaded the .exe file and will be trying it in the next few weeks. By the description, it may replace QRead for me. Specially since QRead hasn't been updated for years now.Providing the links in the next message.
On my way back home after visiting Vegas for the second time since my very first visit to Vegas in 2019.
It's a game my family usually plays during the holidays, and I would like to be included this year. Any help is welcomed. Thanks! (2/2)
Hi to all of my blind friends that are knowledgable with 3D printing. Do any of you know of a place where I may be able to download a 3-D file of “Toma Todo” a Mexican/Latin American version of the dreidel with both print and braille markings? If not, what’s the acceptable/traditional highth of braille dots? My nephew has a 3-D printer that I can problably get him to print one out for me and add the braille. (1/2)
For those who do audio recordings, which form of recording setup would be more ideal? Using the SALVES's Book Sense Player, or the Esencial Zoom 4 recorder? I'm hoping to record the unboxing, setting up and usage of the EchoVision glasses. Which would include the iPhone as I would be creating and exploring the iOS app. Suggestions are welcome.
WooHoo! Just saw in my inbox that I'll be receiving my Echo Vision Pioneer glasses tomorrow. Looking forward to use them during the holidays for a more detail experience this year.
I have been playing around with the 3 major AIs. They all have their PROs and CONs. Though I have been using Co-Pilot more. The only downfall of it. If I wish to download a document that I asked to provide. It provides a card for me to click and download. It doesn't seem to be accessible with JAWS, Narrator, NVDA or VoiceOver if using the iPhone app.If anyone has been successful, suggistions are welcomed.
I thenk EnVision kind of rushed the glasses when AGIGA were about to release their own glasses. And if it wasn't for a fulty speaker. Their glasses would have already been out.
Can't wait to receive my EchoVision glasses to compare them. I believe EchoVision Glasses may be more suited. However, I will keep the Ally Solo Glasses since they do serve a purpose with the costumized shortcuts. At least they have that going for them.
