The already hilariously misnamed “Good Notes" iPad app has become further garbagified after recent updates.

What are y’all using these days to mark up PDF font proofs on iPad? (Eternal question, March 2026 edition)

@kai Although it's missing "export only annotated pages" feature, Noteful works quite well.
@ibo thank I’ll check it out!
@kai I have given up for now and use Preview, but it’s very limited in its tools.
@veryrobin @kai Same. The resolution of the hand drawn notes is not great. But it seems a small compromise compared to regularly having to find a new app.
@kai @letterror I would recommend Notability.
@namratagoyal @letterror I know a guy who pronounces it “not-ability”. Myself I used it many years ago but was not mightily pleased back when. Time to try it again!
@kai notability which I am ambivalent about
@benkiel @kai Same here. I liked it a lot more a few years ago, when you could hide the interface completely and it didn't continually try to sell you upgrades, but it still works well enough.
@kai Still using Books. Still using that iPad Pro zweite Generation
