@uxMark @grammasaurus It raises the question of how many goslings are in a normal clutch of eggs. Is this unusually large? I feel like I've never seen quite this many with only one parent around.

@uxMark @SRLevine The most I’ve seen is 25, but with two adults, so I assumed it was more than one family. But some of the geese around here do have large families—a dozen babies isn’t unusual.

When I see a goose with only 2-3 babies, I assume she’s a first-time mom. There are lots of hazards to avoid: foxes, coyotes, turtles, bad weather, hawks and eagles….
