I've been doing weekly calls with someone in Taiwan to practice my Mandarin and essentially the theme is "Allan shows what's up in Chicago on Sunday Mornings" like diners, markets, etc. One amusing thing was my explaining how gasoline prices are not just impacted by state taxes, but are set by a gas station owner and it can depend on a myriad of things like proximity to the highway, city vs rural, etc. In Taiwan gas prices are pretty consistent throughout the country.
