I have a book entitled "Gatlinburg II", which is the record of a nuclear-energy conference held there in 1979. It was for many years the favored site for conferences associated with Oak Ridge National Laboratory, including those organized by the Oak Ridge Associated Universities.
Another book that I have, "Abundant Nuclear Energy", is the record of such a conference held there. Pretty sure I've read some of both on my #aNONradio shows.
@publius Very cool! I wouldn't doubt that it was an aNONradio Episode. BTW, there has been someone on HPR that did an 8 part series on nuclear technology. It was super interesting.
