Been a busy day today, so very little posts, and really, I haven't had the urge to post much. Might be taking more time off-the-grid going forward. We'll see.
Anyway, time to sign off and head on home.

And as for the bomb threat, my wife and I actually left a mall after I bought her birthday gift (an iPad Air) and noticed as LOT of police activity as we were pulling out of the parking area. We then noticed that they blocked all of the entrances and wondered what the heck happened.
Come to find out a few days later that there was a bomb threat at the mall, which thankfully turned out to be a false alarm. Heck, we even had a chance to leave the Apple Store, have lunch in the main mall area, and then head back to the Apple Store to purchase the iPad Air!
So, while not the same as what Sean from Action Retro experienced at VCF, it was quite similar, though we got to do everything before it all went down.

Just finished watching the latest video from @ActionRetro, and I know exactly how he feels. While I didn't experience a bomb thread at a vintage computer festival (though the former is a story I'll continue in a followup threaded post), I know exactly how he feels.

Seems like everything I had hoped in the 90s and early aughties regarding technology and "FUTURE!!!1" has been a big disappointment. Feels like none of this should have happened to begin with and it was all a big mistake from the get-go. Feeling like it's time to get back to basics and enjoy the outdoors more and the time with the people I love.
However, I still do love tech, and sometimes it's just a different type of tech. Even if it's old computers, those may have disappointed in the past, but I now look at it as being part of the character of those things. How things have evolved to they are today is what disappoints me, and not just in tech. Sadly, I don't think this will change overall, so I can only change things within my own world I guess. No, I don't think it's me giving up, just practicing self-care and the care of my closest ones.
I hope all of this makes some sense.

Finally!! It's back!! π₯³
Last October, I gave my #Amiga1200 to a friend who gave it to a friend so that this friend would perform a full #recapping of the machine. The reason being that despite the chips being "good" I just got no audio out of it.
And yesterday I got it back - all fixed, tested and working. I'm so happy!
