@eniko we do sleep in the same bed, but we bought a king size one a while back and I couldn't go back down size.
Also I understand that it is not uncommon to sleep in separate bed, room or both. I know 2 close friends couple where it is the case (for various reasons)
@eniko also, on king size, you have the possibility of having two separate blankets which is way better than it seems at first.
I know some Asian countries don't really have king size and instead use two side by side double beds which can allow for different mattress and bedding set
@greenmoonmoon @eniko This method is easier with floor beds!
@greenmoonmoon @eniko yeah our mom and her partner sleep in separate rooms too cause she has light sleep.
@eniko, usually not even though we live together. Why? She doesn't want to be stomped by our little cat stable, left without blanket and not being able to freely take any pose. And I feel perfectly fine with them and sleep surrounded by the pack. Some of them are even treated as kids.
@eniko, not the whole pack, but almost all of them are here. One guy is in the house. So, only three aren't present on the photo.
@eniko yes but with the kids alternatively crawling over the two of us
@eniko we shared a bed for about a week after moving in together and then switched to separate bedrooms and stayed that way for over a decade

@eniko who's got 2-bed money in this economy!?

Joke aside, we do, have just the one bed but we also got a king sized bed, initially because I need to lay in one position and not move or I wake up in a lot of pain, but now it's because we have a kid who frequently wakes up and crawls into our bed only to lay horizontally and push us both out of the bed.

@eniko My wife loves me more than my snoring is unbearable.

Same is for my father which sleeps light, and mother that snores a lot.

@mctwist @eniko I use a ~20 degree wedge pillow for my upper body, and that massively reduces the snoring.

Also, quietly and calmly telling someone to roll over and sleep on their side will make them do it without even waking them up. I learned that trick from The Abyss!

@TomF @eniko I like to lay on the side, so that helps me.

Gonna tell my wife that trick from The Abyss.

@eniko yes, and once you have kids cats the number of beings in the same bed tends to go up, especially during winter
@gabrielesvelto @eniko We've upgraded to a 200x210cm frame & mattress precisely because of the little restless nighttime visitors. The extra width makes all the difference. (and the extra 10cm length means I never end up with cold feet anymore)
@eniko three people in a king bed, but two separate blankets. even for just two people, separate blankets is a game changer
@eniko Answered "other" because we currently do but are seriously considering getting separate beds because we have very different preferences
@eniko Separate because my wife goes to bed and wakes up much earlier than me, and if I wake her up in the middle of sleeping, she has a very tough time getting back to sleep.
@eniko wife and i like to have lots of space...so we got two large double beds. also, she still claims i snore...
@eniko Had one before where we didn't because chronic pain and insomnia with separate sleep "schedules" made it difficult for either of us to get more than a few hours of sleep. As far as I can tell, it didn't effect the relationship.

@eniko Same bedframe, different mattresses and sheets

(they require extra firm concrete and I desire clouds)

@eniko my husband and I are both extremely light sleepers and wake each other up constantly, so we usually sleep separate.
@eniko I hate co-sleeping and my partner likes their space
@eniko haven't yet been in a situation where other options were available. I think it would be optimal for me to only sleep in the same bed some nights when living together long term though.
@eniko same bed but two different mattresses (200*80 cm each) and sperate blankets.
Every time we're traveling and have a bed with one mattress and one blanket we are grateful to be home again 😅
@eniko we were considering moving to two different beds, but right now the good mattress is preferable to splitting since only one of us could have it unless we're buying another one.
@eniko I don't really differentiate between friend or partner, but with a very close friend of mine we sometimes sleep in the same bed, but most days I want to sleep alone.
@eniko When I slept with my partner we had the best sleep. Unfortunatly it was too long distance for us.
@eniko I mean, yes but it's one of them German beds these days where it's separate slats mattresses and duvets even though it's the one frame. It's a bit weird, though no more fighting over the covers, I guess?
@eniko My partner and I have different sleeping needs. My bed hurts their back and their bed hurts my back. One of us is a light sleeper and we have different sleep times. So it’s easier for both of us to have separate beds. -Lily&
@eniko your cat permits the humans to sleep on the big bed(s)? so generous
