Just read a blog post about someone

a. complaining about bugs in #code
b. using #ai to "analyze" the code and fix the bugs

We are now doing to the #software eco#system what we already did to the physical #ecosystem

We are headed for multi-mode breakdown.

@davidr Are you drawing an analogy to the petroleum/plastic industry hurting the environment? Is there a tighter tie in to ai that I'm not following?

If the bugs are not complex the llm will have trivial fixes in the training data. If the bugs are complex, 'someone' is going to have to notice in order to not push #slop.

But I do want to understand better your point.

@poleguy The analogy one.

In that particular blog post, the bug was apparently fixed bc the software ran. But no mention was made about maintainability or refactoring or any other tech debt issue.

Basically, they got an immediate convenience and left their wrappers at the campsite.
