I am so very, very tired of devices that Do Not Want To Be Opened, and require the sacrifice of many spodgers to even make the attempt.

I am tired of devices that are so locked down so you can't replace the operating system, or even do basic things like update certificates.

I am tired of devices where the most common repair needed involves the most work to execute, not because it needs to be complex, but because the manufacturer chose to make it complex.

I am tired.

@pjf reading this post on a Framework laptop, and very glad to do so.
@pjf me too Paul, me too. Washing machines that need tools you can’t buy, dryers designed for maximising supply chain repair profits. Enshittification everywhere.
@pjf And I'm so tired of people letting them do this as a whole. (No, I don't mean people like you or me. Just people in general. If everyone had put their collective foot down as once upon a time they would have we wouldn't have gotten here, but slowly and surely we've all been dragged down into this.)
@pjf I want to make better devices, once I have the capabilities to make devices.
@pjf well have a nice nap and lets book a visit to the designer's house tomorrow for a nice chat over a bag of oranges
@pjf We need EU style legislation to make them stop locking customers out of their own devices.
