I did it! I rode my first 200km Brevet!
@mejs
Well done - welcome to the club.
Long distances are like a bug and it gets you in the end.
10 hours is impressive - 200k used to always take me 12
@MikeFromLFE thanks!! I've done a couple of centuries before but this is the first time I broke the 200km barrier. I rode a bit faster than I normally like (I'm definitely not a fast rider) because I wanted to finish before it got dark. This ride had an 8am start, which did seem a bit late for March.

@mejs When I was younger, fitter and slightly madder I used to regularly ride Audax events in England, but also occasionally in France & Belgium.

100km was my favourite distance although the longest event I did was 400km.

Last year (and in previous years) I volunteered as a helper in the London - Edinburgh - London 1200km international event. Now that's crazy but a lot of people do it!

@MikeFromLFE these 200km+ are wild! Was the 400km one you did an overnight?

100km is my sweet spot when I'm touring or going for a weekend ride. But pushing myself today was really satisfying too!

@mejs
Yes, the 400km was a 24 hour ride.
When I was much younger one of my cycling goals was to ride through the night. This is now something I've only done twice - the 400k ride and another ride was with my son (who caught the cycling bug as well!)
@MikeFromLFE huge props to you! I'm in awe and not sure if I'll reach that level
@MikeFromLFE @mejs I would like to try the route some time, but at my pace.
