@callyral ngl I was screaming at the TV lmao
Went back and stepped through the text on the console Kinger was using and omfg.. they did legit seeming commands and outputs... and something the system (Caine while trying to stop him?) did changed Kinger's action to delete...
fuck...
@crashdoom Yeah!! That's the kind of part I knew I had to go back and re-watch closely.
The scene at 29:37 shows that there's a file in /secured/ named caine-core.lisp, and Lisp dialects are (or were, in the 90s? Idk) used for AI research! Pretty cool reference in my opinion.
It also implies/basically confirms that Ragatha entered the Circus in 2008 (due do the file date next to her .dat file). For some reason, all of the dates are October 15, but some are in different years... this date could be important for the lore but I have no idea lol.
Also, something about the Circus being called paraphernelia-engine? I don't know what that means for the lore, but "PARAPHERNALIA" is a wacky word that Kinger tries to use as a password in the following scene. I am probably overanalyzing things =w=
@crashdoom @callyral There's a few things going on there.
Kinger's loading into the mainframe kicks off a "Destructive Wackytime" routine in addition to the lockout. There's something else telling Kinger to "DELETE THIS M*******. HAHAhahahaaa" in the terminal output, separate from the system messages, and tries to push Kinger into deleting Caine. Then we have the typo.
Caine was probably doomed from the beginning.
