De Niro has it right. The American people can agree on some things after all.
@georgetakei I wish he had it right. A lot of people *did* vote for all of this.
@gooba42 @georgetakei Surely it’s rhetorical. He’s challenging people to reply ‘Well I for one *absolutely* voted for government-masked thugs to gun citizens down in the streets’.
@georgetakei well. At least for the last two statements, I think he is wrong. A lot of the voters voted exactly for that.

@jhamre @georgetakei

1/3rd of the country plus a few hundred thousand voted for it,

1/3rd minus a few hundred thousand voted against it,

1/6th (the 6th that helped vote against it last time) were actively prevented from voting by making it extremely difficult for them to vote again,

and the last 1/6th stayed home because they didn't fear it enough to be arsed to walk into a booth.

@jhamre now 1/6th of the population (half the population that voted for it) is having second thoughts (the leopards started eating their face, I guess)... and whether they'll vote against it, be prevented, or stay home next time is between them and God.
@georgetakei the red caps clearly voted for exactly that and pretending it isn't so helps no one.
@georgetakei I voted for higher gas prices. We don't have the time to dilly-dally when it comes to climate change.
@georgetakei You Americans are much more worth it than you think. Don't let a dipswitch sitting in the oval office & his minority of ill bred cohorts & supporters make you feel any different. Much what makes the majority of United States folks wonderful people is much the same things as us Canucks. 🙂
@georgetakei
why only good neighbors, who determines which neighbors are good and which ones bad

@georgetakei somewhat naive, as a sizable chunk of MAGAts ACTUALLY voted for all of that.

And they still defend their godhead, irrespective of whether they voted for those or not.

They are irrecoverable, unsalvageable.

#TurdReich #MAGAts #USPol

@georgetakei anyone who voted for trump is exactly what they voted for. It doesn't matter the specifics, they knew he was an unhinged maniac and the result of electing an unhinged maniac would be. Sure they can say we didn't know he was going to start a war or any other of the awful things he's done but you did know who he was, that should have been enough.

What is clear is doesn't matter whether you are a democrat, republican or independent, no one should have voted for him.

@georgetakei I disagree. It was apparent what a poor job Trump would do before his FIRST term. People only voted for him if they WANTED more bigotry hatred and idiocy. He makes them feel represented, a reflection of who they are that is as shallow and empty as they are.
@obscurestar @georgetakei Welp, the power of propaganda should not be dismissed. People were talked into things.
However, many folks are *perfectly fine* with gunning down citizens to "get in the way" of people "doing their jobs."
@georgetakei this thought is giving some sort of cognitive dissonance... on one hand i believe (want to believe?) you are right. on the other hand - what did this people vote for? from where i stand it was obvious all of those things are going to happen. how can your mind work around that and what else are you trying to achieve? that's what i am not getting.
Some dickheads did, though...
@georgetakei Everybody who voted for Trump voted for all these things.
@georgetakei Mostly right, but not all right. There were quite a lot of people, sadly, who voted for deporting our good neighbors and for government thugs shooting citizens in our streets.
@JTinMI @georgetakei yeah, some deplorable people consider this “promises made, promises kept”
@petes_bread_eqn_xls @JTinMI @georgetakei I’m literally an Anglo and a Saxon and I find this sea of white scary.

@georgetakei

90,000,000 unvoters absosmurfly voted exactly for all of it and more.

@georgetakei

Vota un porcentaje muy bajo de la población en una democracia que no es participativa...

Es decir Trump representa prácticamente a nadie más que a sus empresas...

@georgetakei I'm sorry.
I know people who voted for the masked thugs shooting people in the streets. THEY ARE FINE WITH IT. We are not dealing with reasonably humans with morals.
@georgetakei But they voted for the man who is doing this when any intelligent person could have predicted he would do, maybe not this specific shit, but certainly shit like this. I have zero sympathy.

@georgetakei is that why there is like 100% support for the Epstein war amongst the voters who identifies as MAGA and that identified as MAGA number is up since the election?.

Everyone needs to get through their heads that a big chunk of the population, 10-30% are absolute maggots. There is no point trying to please them, politicians who wants to do good need to focus on the other 70-90%, like in US not being Cuck & side cuck Jeffries who wants to hold hand with the 30% at every opportunity.

@georgetakei

Republicans have been rather loud about voting for it, though.

@georgetakei

The thing is around 30% of the registered voters voted for this vile, evil and stupid criminal, same amount against and the rest didn’t care.

And btw I am convinced money and socials made him win…

How to get rid of this cancer without killing America, that is the question now.

To: George; Robert and everyone else, whom it may concern, hello!

1. What a sadness. Even Robert and George, seems not to have comprehend what it means, to tick a box at elections. It means:
1.1 You declare You for innocent, un-mature. And
1.2 You give a blanko-check, to politicians, even to Nero's 2.0 of our days.

2. No any 'HillyBilly'-voters, have elected Donald.

What a sadness ...

@georgetakei

I met some Karens who would have me deported in a second if it were up to them.

@georgetakei

I really wish that this was the case, but I don't think that it is.

Many people can be moved and twisted and activated, through lies and propaganda and manipulation, to become terrible and cruel, to then enthusiastically do evil.

Many Americans have been hit by these mental weapons, and changed. Enough to wreck our society.

They did indeed vote for awful things.

We have to confront that.

@georgetakei This isn't entirely correct. Those people _DID_ vote for all of this; they just didn't think it would also be happening to _them_. They were fine with it happening to "other people". They do not get a pass because they were brainwashed and ignorant.
