Twelve years with one phone.
My story of what I carried, why I kept it, why I finally let it go β€” and why the answer was a Fairphone.
Things should serve you, age alongside you, and go out with dignity. It is a simple principle, but it shapes every purchase I make.

The only reason I "upgraded" (more of a downgrade really) was because it was no longer network-supported when 3G was decommissioned - it was a Note Edge (I loved the edge screen!) - though admittedly it was becoming less useful as apps gradually stopped supporting the last Android version that it could be updated to 😑
@SmartmanApps @josh I think I know that feeling, and 3G decommissioning is at least an honest reason.
The gradual Android deprecation thing is sneakier. No real benefits, just quiet pressure to upgrade. Looks to me like planned obsolescence with extra steps.
