Twelve years with one phone.
My story of what I carried, why I kept it, why I finally let it go β€” and why the answer was a Fairphone.
Things should serve you, age alongside you, and go out with dignity. It is a simple principle, but it shapes every purchase I make.

Extended my time tracking extension for Gnome with automatic window focus detection. Timers now activate when you focus a window matching your regex rules.
No more remembering to turn the timer on when switching projects and activities.

There's something special about watching a bookmark drift through Insomnia by Stephen King, borrowed from the local library.
I do use my wife's well-worn Kindle for books the library lacks, but nothing beats the ritual of chatting with the friendly librarians, picking out a book, and turning its pages while curled up in a cozy chair.

While developing a custom mobile client to replace the Joplin app, I hit a roadblock: no API definition for the Joplin Server. With a bit of AI assistance, I created an OpenAPI spec from its route implementations. More updates and polish to come. πŸš€

Feel free to use and contribute!

After a long day of brain-heavy work, I find peace in simple tasks like mowing the lawn, watering the garden, or tidying up. There's something uniquely soothing about unplugging from screens and connecting with the real world. Funny how the simplest things can be the most restorative.

Just celebrated my birthday, and I’ve got a gift for the Gnome community: a simple extension to track time with multiple timers. I've been using it for a while and hope you find it useful, too. Enjoy!

I'm working on a simple Gnome extension and, out of curiosity, asked ChatGPT for advice on UI improvements based on a screenshot and UX description. I was genuinely surprised by the comprehensive list of suggestions it provided β€” complete with convincing arguments.

I depend on my phone.
Spent 10 minutes last night looking for it to set an alarm for the morning β€” only to find out I left it in the car... after shopping at 8 AM. πŸ˜…

Just realized that a bunch of stuff I use every day comes from companies in the Netherlands πŸ‡³πŸ‡± β€” HDMI cables, a workout bench, a coffee mug, Christmas lights, even candles!

It’s impressive how such a small country has such a big impact through its innovative businesses.

What is it about the #Netherlands that fosters such a strong entrepreneurial spirit?
